Dan Haseltine

AKA Daniel Cryer

is the co-lead singer and co-writer on all the songs for The River Cryers. He’s best known as the lead singer and primary lyricist for the alternative folk group, Jars of Clay, which sold over 9 million units of 11 albums earning 3 Grammys over a 20 year period and toured the globe. He also plays piano, accordion, and melodica. Additionally, he has been a songwriter, producer, and music supervisor for other projects. Most recently, he has become the composer and soundtrack supervisor for TV series like “The Chosen,” and films like “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.”

Billy Smiley

aka William Cryer

is the guitarist, keyboardist, high harmony singer, and co-writer on all the songs for The River Cryers. Much of his career was doing the same for WhiteHeart, which sold several million units of 11 albums over a 15 year timeframe, and logged over a thousand concerts around the world. In the past couple decades he has become a successful producer of more than 200 albums, and he continues writing songs that have been placed on many projects.

Ron Hemby

aka Ronald Cryer

is the co-lead singer alongside Haseltine, rhythm guitarist, bassist, and co-writer of all the songs for The River Cryers. He was lead vocalist for The Imperials on 3 albums that totaled over a million in sales and five #1 singles, while on the road for close to a thousand concerts around North America during that stretch. He has also been member of the critically acclaimed Buffalo Club, and toured as a band member and singer for many artists, including Clint Black, Chris Cagle, Peter Cetera, Jimmy Wayne, Diamond Rio, Amy Grant, and CeCe Winans.

Steve Hindalong

AKA Steven Cryer

is the drummer, percussionist, harmonica, acoustic guitarist, and co-writer of all the songs for The River Cryers. He’s a founding member of the alternative band, The Choir, which has been in existence since the early 80s, releasing 17 studio and 6 live albums that have sold over million total units, while playing shows on 4 continents. He has also released 3 solo albums, guested on over 60 albums by other artists, been producer of two dozen outside projects, and his songwriting has earned him 2 Dove Awards.

Matt Nelson

aka Matthew Cryer

is the bassist, cellist, guitarist, keyboardist, pedal steelist, harmony singer and co-writer on all the songs for The River Cryers. He has performed on albums and in concert with JD Souther, Cheap Trick, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and Steven Curtis Chapman; as well as appearing on The Today Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Grand Ole Opry, and NPR’s Mountain Stage. He also partners with Haseltine as composer and soundtrack supervisor for TV series like “The Chosen,” and Films like “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.”
